Employees are required to keep any information about children, families, and other people in the building confidential. Employees conduct themselves in a professional manner by keeping information about children or families to themselves especially in the presence of other adults or children.
Fallone's Funtime Center, Inc. is required to report or cause a report to be made in accordance with the New York State Social Services Law, when we believe there is reasonable cause to suspect child abuse or maltreatment.
Open Door Policy
Parents, feel free to visit your children at any time during the course of the day. You are always welcome at the childcare center and feel free to call us if you have any questions or concerns. Please keep your child's daily schedule in mind when visiting. Naptime may be a difficult time to visit. Children may be cranky if woken up and may disturb other children who are napping. Other times such as play times, learning and lunches may be a better time to spend with the children.
We would request permission to take pictures of the children at the center while they are playing indoors as we welcome special visitors / activities. If you do not wish to have your children's pictures taken and displayed in the center, please let us know. We would like to show parents the different activities their children enjoy at the center.
Home/ School Communication
It is important that parents inform the Director or their child's teacher of any change in address, emergency phone numbers, a different person picking up the child, medication or any information that would be pertinent to the safety or well-being of their child (ex: allergies) Written specifics are required.
Weather Conditions - Closings
In the event of severe weather conditions or a state of emergency which cause Spencerport and Churchville School Districts to close, the daycare center may be open. Please go to the WHAM 13 T.V. station for closing information or our Facebook page. The parents will still be responsible for paying for the off days, due to the fact we still have to pay compensation to the staff, supplies and the overhead expenses.
Release of Children
Release of children to anyone other than parents:
- Children will only be released to those persons whose names are on the registration forms and the attendance forms. Photo identification, preferably driver's license, will be required of persons picking up the child.
- Persons other than parents must show identification to the Director or teachers in order to have the child released. There may be cases where a new teacher is assigned to a room and is not familiar with the parent(s). The teacher will ask the parent(s) for identification to ensure the safety of the children.
- It is essential that parents notify the Director in advance if a person not listed on the registration form is scheduled to pick up the children.
- Situations involving court orders require communication with the Director and copy of the court order supplied at the time of pick up.
- At Fallone's Funtime Center, Inc, we ensure the safety of all the children and take precautions necessary to protect them.
Fallone's Funtime Center, Inc. has compiled a set of guidelines to follow when your child is sick. These guidelines are to prevent the spread of germs and illness throughout the center. The health and well-being of the children is very important to us.
If a child has a fever of 101 degrees F. or more, parents will be notified and the child will be sent home. The child may not return until 24 hours after the fever has broken. If the child does return any time before the 24 hour period, they will be sent home with the parent by the Director or Teacher. We realize that keeping your children home may be an inconvenience for working parents, but we are looking out for the best interest of your child, other children, and staff members. Germs and illnesses spread rapidly in daycare, and we wish to take careful precautions in providing a safe and healthy environment for the children.
If a child is vomiting and has a fever, parents will be notified to pick up the child. The child may not return until 24 hours after the fever and vomiting have stopped.
If a child is vomiting and does not have a fever, we will consider the causes of vomiting. Sometimes medication, nervousness, stress or eating too fast can cause a child to vomit. If this is the case the child may remain at the daycare center. Parent's will be notified to inform them of the child's health. If the vomiting is not caused by any of the above reasons and the child appears ill or may be coming down with the flu virus, the parents will be called to pick up the child. Even though the child does not have a fever, they may still have the flu virus. The child may not return until 24 hours after the vomiting has stopped.
If a child has diarrhea and does not have a fever, we will consider the causes. Sometimes medication, nervousness, stress or eating certain foods can cause a child to have diarrhea. If this is the case the child may remain at the daycare center. Parents will be notified to inform them of the child's health. If the vomiting is not caused by any of the above reasons and the child appears ill without a fever, the parents will be called to pick up the child. The child must have at least three diarrhea bowel movements before being sent home. Sometime diarrhea may be a symptom of the flu virus or infection. The child may not return until 24 hours after the diarrhea has stopped.
In the case of a minor accident, parents will be notified to inform you of the accident and actions taken to aid the child. In the case of a major accident, parents will be notified and we will provide the best possible aid to your child. If further aid is needed, we will seek medical help in the form of calling 911, ambulance, etc. If you have an alternate work number, a cellular number, or a pager number, please list it on the registration form. If you are at a different number for the day for any reason, please notify the office. Please list any available number such as work, home, grandparents, aunts, uncles, guardians, friends, etc. In case of a medical emergency, we need to get in touch with parents immediately to provide the best possible care for your child.
We realize that some of these guidelines may seem strict but the center takes precautions such as washing the toys, sanitizing the rooms, and washing hands to protect children against germs and illnesses. Children must be ill in order for us to send them home. We understand the inconvenience and will use our best judgment before notifying parents to pick up the child. We strive for a healthy and safe environment for your children.
With any undefined or contagious rashes, parents will be called to pick up the child. Children may not return to the center unless they see a doctor and are on medication for at least 24 hours or more depending on the incubation period of the contagious virus. If symptoms persist after 24 hours an assurance from a physician that the child can return to daycare will be required.
Please let the child's teacher know if your child is not acting like themselves, had a bad night, etc. The teacher will be able to watch the child during the day for any symptoms or change in behavior.
